Our BikeUP Journey: How we are growing (thanks to you!)

Hey there! Welcome to the place where we want to share our story with you. At BikeUP, we've believed from the very beginning that things can be done differently—simpler, more eco-friendly, and completely worry-free for parents.

This journey wouldn't be possible without you. We are constantly learning, improving, and working hard to make bike subscriptions the best possible experience for you and your kids.

What We've Done So Far: Our Milestones

This is where the idea was born and where we turned it into reality together.

2021: The First Spark

It all started with one question: "What if kids' bikes could grow with them?" An idea for a service was born in our minds—one that would save parents money and free them from the hassle of constantly buying and selling bikes. We started sketching out the first plans.

2022: From Idea to Reality

We said: Let's do this! We ordered our first big batch of bikes and set up the entire system. It was a huge leap into the unknown, but we believed in it.

September 6, 2022: We're Live!

The big day. The first-ever BikeUP bikes were delivered by courier to our very first customers in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The feeling of knowing we had just made someone's life simpler was priceless!

2024: A New (Better) Look

Our website is our shop window. After two years, we gathered a ton of feedback and gave the site a complete redesign and a bunch of improvements. Ordering became even easier and more straightforward.

2025: Streamlining the Process

We know kids grow like weeds. That's why we focused on what happens after the order. We launched a brand new, super-intuitive interface for returning and swapping bikes. Just a few clicks, and you're done.

We’ve got a lot of plans. We want our service to be not just convenient, but truly "smart." Hold onto your hats, because we're working on a revolution in how you see kids' bikes!

Our main goal is to connect the world of bikes with the latest technology. Imagine it as a complete ecosystem where we (and our little robotic and AI pals) take care of everything.

What can you look forward to?

1. Smart Bikes and a Guiding App

It won't just be a bike anymore. We're integrating a special sensor directly into the frame, which will connect to our new mobile app. What will this bring you?

  • Help with learning: The app will include tips and interactive guides to help kids with their first few meters and make learning to ride easier.

  • Help with setup: It will tell you exactly how to set up the bike perfectly for your child.

  • Motivation: It will track rides, give kids fun challenges, and make cycling even more enjoyable.

  • Safety & Security: The sensor will also have security features. Yep, exactly what you're thinking—it will help us find the bike in case of theft.

  • Bike status: The sensor itself will tell us when the bike needs servicing (e.g., if the brakes are worn out), so we can take care of it proactively.

Our main goal, thanks to all these improvements, is to build a positive cycling habit in every child. We want the bike to become a natural part of their life and their lifestyle.

2. Robotic Servicing (Because Speed Matters)

That's right, robots! We're working on a fully automated service line. For us, this means much higher efficiency, but for you, it means something much more important:

  • Extremely fast service: Swapping or repairing a bike will be many times faster. Our goal is to get the bike back to you almost immediately.

  • 100% quality: Automated inspection will ensure that every single bike is in absolutely perfect condition before it's sent out.

3. The Showroom and Support of the Future (AI Foxie)

We want to be available anytime. We're preparing an automated showroom where you can check out the bikes even without our physical presence. Our AI assistant (Foxie) will guide you through the whole process, offering advice and answering your questions. We'll use the same technology for our customer support, so you can get answers to your questions instantly, 24/7.


Why Are We Doing All This?

Because we believe it can be done better. We want to completely change the world of kids' cycling and use the latest technology to bring huge added value to parents and their children.

Our bikes are already specially designed to withstand multiple uses and be easily serviceable. But with these new technologies, we will take the entire subscription experience to a whole new level.

Our goal is to grow (a lot!) and bring these innovations to thousands of other families. And who knows... maybe we'll add bikes for adults to our lineup eventually. Innovation is a challenge in every field—and we're accepting that challenge!
